“Watching our college win the Le Corbusier trophy for the first time when I was in my first year was when I understood the impact NASA India made on lives of architecture students. The celebration of their teamwork, exploration, and experience! The immense energy, enthusiasm, and pride reflected in all the students and faculty who have been a part of NASA India. This is when my desire to become a significant part of NASA, be the Unit Secretary of our college and represent our unit on a national platform, grew stronger.
The journey after that has been a rollercoaster. With the global pandemic hitting, and the world turning upside down, we started studying architecture online. Where we could barely manage our academic work, we still gave our 100% for all the trophies that we worked on. The spirit of NASA was still alive. After becoming the USec, I was exposed to the depths of this association. I have realized how professional and powerful a student body association can be, and being a part of it was truly an honour. The number of responsibilities felt overwhelming at first, but my tenure has shaped me into a more confident and evolved individual.
The association provides exposure and platforms not just in terms of academic architectural development but the overall development of a student, giving them skills that are required as professionals. I’ve learned something new every year. In my tenure, I’ve learnt to take a stand and to manage and lead a team. I’m grateful of NASA India, for giving me this opportunity, the respect, the experience, and the confidence I’ve earned. I can definitely say I’m proud of who I’ve become and the person I’m growing into.

“Power to win is not only in any one person, the power is when all of them come together as one.” – A. R. Rahman

The Faculty of Architecture, Sarvajanik College of Engineering & Technology, has had a great history with the association. It was, therefore, a matter of pride and honour when I took charge as the Unit Designee for the 63rd Year of NASA India. My vision was to leave no stone unturned and take each and every opportunity coming in my way. Winning trophies was all that I desired!
By the time we brought the Le Corbusier Trophy back to the college, I had become the Unit Secretary. I felt privileged to invite the last seven Ex-Unit Secretaries from Z-214 for the celebration. They shared stories and experiences of their tenure and conventions. While interacting with them, I realized that winning is not everything! In the end, what we will cherish the most is the time we spend together and the life lessons we learn, through exploring and experiencing new things.
This was the time when we decided to nurture the rich culture we already have. Now, looking back at my tenure as a Unit Secretary, our work is something that I wish my Unit Designee carries forward. The ball must keep rolling, and thus, “THE LEGACY” must go on!
One Word
As Unit Secretaries, we devote two years of our college lives to NASA India, enhancing the symbiotic relationship that exists between the association and different units. It is, therefore, human nature to want to make a mark, to leave something behind for the USecs who take up our mantle once our tenure is over.
OneWord is a simple attempt to represent Zone 2’s Unit Secretaries in a creative and unique manner. Each USec was asked to choose a word that represented NASA India (or their journey as a secretary), and we created a graphic with these words. This binds us together, while still keeping us as unique as each building on a skyline!
